Prior To Your Appointment
Stay hydrated and limit food
Keep well hydrated in the build up to your session for the best results. We also recommend leaving a minimum of 2/3 hours post training and try not to eat any heavy meals for the hour before your appointment.
What to wear
We recommend you wear short, shorts and a sports bra, tank top or t-shirt. Although not as effective but if you really aren’t comfortable with this our treatments can be performed through clothing so just let your therapist know at the start of your appointment.
What to Expect
Our treatments last 30 or 50 Minutes and we highly recommend a 50 minute appointment for your first session. We use our own unique manual therapy system Concentrating on the fascial connections of the body and treating it as one with a combination of Active fascial release, Fascial stretching, Functional Dry needling, movement and our main treatment technique Neuromuscular Therapy.
You may experience some pain/discomfort during the treatment, but don’t worry, it’s a good pain and rest assured, you will experience results from your very first session.
During Your Appointment
The Plan
After a review of your history and goals, your initial session begins by assessing your body and understanding your Alignment.
Your Therapist will start to work with your body to release tension and restore balance to the fascia structure and other soft tissues using manual therapy. Together, we devise a clear plan to solve any issues causing pain or locking up your performance and move you back to doing what you love to do without any limitations.Number of Treatments
Each patient case varies and your Therapist can give you a more accurate timeframe following your initial appointment, but generally you’ll experience significant results as follows:
Pre/post event recovery: 1 Session
Minor: 2-4 Sessions
Major: 4-8+ Sessions
After your Session
Can you go back to training/exercise/work?
Make sure to discuss this with your Therapist during your session to plan around a busy training schedule/work. Otherwise, it’s always best to take the rest of the day off and let your body recover.
Feeling Sore/Slight Discomfort
You may feel sore or slight discomfort after your session, but don’t worry, soreness for a couple days after treatment is completely normal. As your body gets used to the style of therapy and you come more consistently, you’ll feel less soreness following your treatment.
Keeping the Changes
Keep recovery in mind. Stay consistent with your fluid intake to assist in the recovery of your complaint areas and to help your body stay hydrated. Same applies to sleep, try your best to get a good night’s rest following your treatment and continue to work on any home stretches or movement plans provided to reap the most benefits and help your body heal.
The Future
When you’re moving and feeling better…. We recommend that all our clients receive a Neuromuscular Therapy session every 4-6 weeks as maintenance to keep the body performing as best it can whether in sport or your daily life.
